Gym – Frequently Asked Questions
When is the quietest time to visit the gym?
On weekdays the gym is generally busiest before work, at lunchtime and after work. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, pay a visit just before lunch or in the afternoon.
Do I need to bring a towel?
YES! Every member must come with their own towel and use it on every bench. No towel, no workout! We enforce this rule so don’t forget. We also don’t have towels for hire or spare towels for you if you forget…sorry.
Who can I ask if I have trouble using the equipment?
Our on duty staff can assist you with most of the equipment. Also, our Personal Trainers may be able to assist if they are not in session with a client.
What do I do in an emergency situation?
Alert a staff member or a Personal Trainer immediately. Outside of hours, there are two emergency buttons located at each end of the main wall where the change rooms are located. If you are concerned about safety at night, you can also wear one of the panic button lanyards that are hanging up by the hand sanitiser at the entrance of the gym.
How do I use the lockers in the change rooms?
Set-your-own combination lockers are available for use during your workout and will automatically open after 3 hours. Instructions on how to set your combination are on the back of each locker door. TIP! Remember to push clear (C) at the start when setting your combination and again when you return after your workout. If you are unable to open your locker, please see the on duty staff member who will use the master key to open it. Outside of staffed hours; remember the locker will automatically open after three hours of when you first locked it. We do not have an after hours phone number.
NOTE: While care is taken to ensure the security of our lockers, we can’t accept responsibility for items lost or damaged through theft or misplacement.
What happens if I lose something at the gym?
Check with our staff if we have your lost item in lost property. You’d be amazed what is left behind.
Can I bring my children to the gym while I workout?
Sorry, due to Workout Zone health & safety and insurance policies, children are NOT allowed in Workout Zone.
In special circumstances, you may seek permission from Workout Zone’s owners, however, this should be for a one off case and not ongoing.
If you have gained permission for your special circumstance the following must be adhered to:
1) Children MUST stay in the member zone – the seated area at the front of the gym, unless they have approval to be in the PT area by their Trainer.
2) Children CANNOT move from the member zone the entire time they are in the gym. They MUST NOT be in the workout area whatsoever.
4)If a child, needs to go to the bathroom, is in need of something, the parent/guardian is RESPONSIBLE for immediately stopping their workout and responding to the child (accompanying them to the bathroom if required).
5) If a child is yelling, crying, etc. the parent/guardian MUST go over to the child immediately. Your child must not disturb other members’ workout experience.
Failure to adhere to these policies can lead to Workout Zone insurance breaches and other member complaints.
How can I provide feedback about my experience at Workout Zone?
